Green Kids Biyara Hawraman – Pier Shalyaar Primary School

For this project Dashni was able to visit where her mum grew up – an area she couldn’t visit until this time. The town was called Biyara, which was built on a mountain and known for its fruits and walnuts.

Dashni started to love nature as a child by visiting Biyara at weekends with her family where there were waterfalls and beautiful scenery

Dashni used to help take off the walnuts from the trees and remembered loving her hands getting colored by the nuts. Dashni loved going to the river and having fresh watermelons and playing there with her siblings.

To Dashni it was that special place that not only made her love the environment but also made her feel very protected and from that wanted to protect scenery around. Dashni revisited after 10 years, which made it a very emotional trip.

There was lots of singing and dancing and the children were very beautiful and lovely.

The team went with 2 local artists of the area, Qasm Hawrami and Avan Jama.

The children were already connecting and very engaged with nature therefore making the info the team provided already well known.
